Documenting - Water - Great Lakes

Growing up in Minnesota I love water, I know a lot of people love water, I search for water when I am out exploring. I have finally seen both oceans, they are amazing. Something about the power of the water washing up along the shore, wave after wave coming in. I plan to spend a good part of this summer exploring the west coast.

But, I still love the Great Lakes. I have not seen them all yet, but the ones I have been able to experience well, are beyond words. You feel like you are standing in the ocean, it looks, feels, and often acts like an ocean. But they are freshwater lakes the separate a good part of the Eastern United States from Canada.

I spent a couple of summers getting to know the lake between Milwaukee, WI, and Chicago, IL really well. My son would play rugby on weekends. I would grab him Friday after work and drive through the night to reach Chicago in time to see the sunrise over the lake. Truly magnificent.
