Documenting - That One Time - Michigan

When I was traveling with my son regularly for rugby games, I got to see a lot of things. One that has stood out for all of these years was Michigan. And I have wanted to get back to explore the state ever since.

When most people think of Michigan, Detroit comes to mind and how rundown and depressed the area has been for years now. And it was something to see, a huge urban area basically empty. I will never forget driving into town and seeing the huge industrial complexes sitting empty, covered in spray paint.

However, there is much more to Michigan than just the urban area. It has powerful great lakes hitting its shores. A bridge to Canada, and some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen.

The area is on my list for travels this summer. More than just a few hours passing through and shooting from the car. I want to get in and explore the state a bit. Including seeing Detroit and documenting the comeback the city is experiencing. From what I read there is still a way to go, but it looks much different than the last time I passed through.
